Chinese New Year in Prague
From today till the 22nd of February, in the Old Town Square in Prague, it will be possible to celebrate, for the second time in 2015, the New Year.
In fact Prague is hosting the Chinese New Year celebrations.
papier-mâché dragons, golden lions, chinese architectural elements covered with red drapery, shiny moving dragons…this is the scenic design held within the ancient gothic arcades of the square.
According to the organisers, the czech-chinese economic forum, visitors will be able to see stands with typical Chinese products, from food to crafts. For more information about the program, please visit the web page: http://www.czechchina.com/?p=5972
We asked to a pedestrian, Mr. T.P., what he thinks about this event: “celebrating again the New Year, after only 6 weeks, means a big optimism, or some kind of resignation”.
Perhaps this kermesse is the signal of a new openness, from the City of Prague, regarding the use of the main square of the city.
